MarePineta

The beach club of the MarePineta Resort at Milano Marittima, a wide private beach open to outside guests with umbrellas, gazebos and cabanas.

The MarePineta Beach Club stands at Milano Marittima, on the Adriatic coast of Emilia-Romagna, at viale Dante 40. It belongs to the MarePineta Resort and is reached from the hotel along a wisteria-covered path that crosses the resort's Sporting Club. The beach covers eleven thousand square metres, one of the widest on this stretch, and carries two hundred and twenty-five umbrellas, three gazebos and eleven cabanas, with a beach service, a bar and a restaurant.

The club and all its services are open to outside guests as well as to the resort's. The operator publishes no price for an umbrella or cabana. The beach bar runs from nine in the morning to nine in the evening, and to midnight from Wednesday to Sunday in summer. The restaurant serves lunch daily from half past twelve to half past three from 1 May, and dinner four nights a week in summer. Bookings go through the resort's telephone and the restaurant's own line.

A hotel beach that sells to the street. The operator states plainly that the beach is not reserved for residents, which on a resort frontage is not the rule.

Evenings on the sand. The bar stays open late through the summer weekend, and dinner is served on the beach four nights a week.

Who it is not for

MarePineta is wrong for anyone who wants the price before booking: none is published by the operator or by the beach-booking listing. It is wrong for a dinner on a Monday or Tuesday, when the restaurant serves lunch only. And it is wrong for someone seeking a small, local bagno: this is the beach of a large resort, with its service and scale.
