Tropical Temptation

An adults-only day club on the sand of Melasti Beach below the Ungasan cliffs, selling day beds by the sea and by the pool.

Tropical Temptation stands on Melasti Beach at Ungasan, on the Bukit in the south of Bali, facing the Indian Ocean. The operator places it on the beachfront below cliffside terrain with direct access to the water, and names it as part of the Collections of Wonderspace. A Bali magazine describes it as the club previously known as Cattamaran Beach Club, with room for up to five hundred people and views across the whole of Melasti.

The day is sold as day beds in four positions: West Sand and East Sand Day Beds on the beach, and West Lagoon and East Lagoon Day Beds by the water features inside the club. Booking runs through the operator's own booking site, by WhatsApp and by e-mail; the operator publishes no prices on the pages read. The club is open every day, with a breakfast service in the morning and a sunset dining lounge later on, and runs weekly evenings of its own.

Adults only. The operator says plainly that the club is exclusively for adults and calls itself an adult-only beach club. Children are not part of the day.

Sand or pool, chosen at booking. The bed categories separate the sand from the lagoon, so a guest decides in advance whether the day is spent at the sea's edge or beside the infinity pools, of which the operator's blog counts two.

A day that runs into the evening. Breakfast, lunch, sunset and a DJ booth beneath a goddess statue make it an all-day venue rather than a lunch stop.

Who it is not for

Tropical Temptation is wrong for families: the operator admits adults only. It is wrong for anyone who wants a quiet, half-empty beach, because the club is built for several hundred guests and for music. And it is wrong for a visitor who wants to know the cost before choosing a bed, because the operator does not publish its prices on the pages read.
