The Beach Phuket

The Beach Phuket stands on Bang Tao Beach at Cherngtalay, in the Thalang district in front of the Arinara Beach Resort Phuket, which runs it. Bang Tao, which the operator calls Phuket's longest beachfront, has at least seven active beach clubs, among them Catch, Carpe Diem and Xana, and a southern stretch that has been lined with small restaurants and beach bars for decades. The operator calls its club family-friendly and Bali-inspired.

It opens every day from noon to midnight. The seating is set at tables in a central area or on the beach, on large sofas or on daybeds facing the sea, shaded by trees and umbrellas. The kitchen works with local ingredients alongside international dishes, and a beach bar serves light refreshments for all ages. The operator takes reservations by phone and through LINE; it does not publish how a day on the sand is sold, or to whom.

Quiet by the standard of the bay. On a beach with several louder clubs, it is described as one of the more relaxed options, without loud music.

Sunday brunch. Every Sunday from noon to four a buffet of seafood, Pad Thai, ribs, skewers, salads and fruit is laid out, with live music and singers.

Open to the sunset. The terrace is wide and open over the beach, and the operator sets its tables for the sunset view; it stays open until midnight.
