Mandala Beach
A day club of pools and sand at Punta Cancún, run by the city's nightclub group, sold by ticket and turned into a pool party on Wednesday nights.
Mandala Beach stands on Boulevard Kukulcán at Punta Cancún, in the Hotel Zone of Cancún, facing the Caribbean. The point is the party end of the Hotel Zone, and the club shares it with Coco Bongo Beach Party and Tribu. It belongs to Grupo Mandala, whose ticket site, MandalaTickets, sells it alongside the group's Cancún nightclubs; on that site it is the only venue filed as a beach club.
The day is sold as a ticket, online, from 60 USD on the operator's own listing. It opens daily. The pass covers the pools, the lounge areas and the beach, with food and drink from the menu; private hot tubs and villas are sold as the premium tier. Check-in must be completed before noon, and a reservation is guaranteed only until then. A third-party day-pass seller lists the day from MXN 990 per adult, with unlimited regular drinks included and food, the villas and the VIP area excluded.
Day and night on one site. The same address runs a separate night product, Mandala Beach Night, on Wednesdays from ten in the evening to three in the morning. By day it is a beach club; after dark the pools become the party.
A dress code on the sand. The operator asks for sophisticated beachwear or casual-chic dress, sandals and beach shoes, and requires a swimsuit in the pool. It turns away sports team shirts, jeans other than gauze or linen, extravagant hats, political or offensive slogans and backpacks.
Music is the programme. The operator lists the sound as electronic, Top 40 and beach vibes, with resident DJs, and pitches the place on pools, jacuzzis and cocktails in front of the Caribbean.
Who it is not for
Mandala Beach is wrong for anyone looking for a quiet beach: it is a party venue on Cancún's party point, built around DJs and pools. It is wrong for a family with children unless they check first, because the sources disagree on the minimum age. It is wrong for a late riser, since check-in closes at noon and a booking is not held after that. And it is wrong for someone who wants to dress as they please, because the door applies a written dress code.
