Mía Tulum Resort & Beach Club stands at kilometre 7.5 of the Zona Hotelera in Tulum, on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo. It is both a place to stay and a club for the day: the resort offers suites with sea and garden views, teepees and family rooms, and below them a beachfront lounge with beds on the sand. A third-party booking page describes a private beach of 400 square metres with day beds and umbrellas, and an outdoor pool.

The day is built around the restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and a sunset service into the evening, with music and a DJ as the light goes. Lounge beds are the product on the sand. The operator publishes no price and no minimum on its home page; the booking listing notes that a minimum spend per person may apply in the beach club area. Reservations go by phone, WhatsApp and e-mail, and through third-party table platforms.

Sunset as the main service. The operator divides the day into breakfast, lunch and a sunset-to-night sitting, and puts the music in the last of these. The beach is the setting for a restaurant rather than a separate sunbed business.

Rooms behind the sand. Unlike a stand-alone club, Mía also sells nights, so the beach is shared between those staying and those who come only for the day.

Who it is not for

Mía is wrong for someone who wants to know the cost of the day before arriving, because no price or minimum is published by the operator. It is wrong for a visitor who wants a silent beach in the late afternoon, since the sunset service brings a DJ. And it is wrong for anyone looking for a large stretch of open sand: the listed private beach is small, at around 400 square metres.
