Nômade Tulum Beach Club
The beach club of a jungle hotel in Tulum's hotel zone, open to outside visitors against a per-person minimum, with the beds kept for those staying.
Nômade Tulum Beach Club is the shore club of Nômade Tulum, which its own pages also call Nômade Temple Tulum, at kilometre 10.5 of the Carretera Tulum–Boca Paila in the beach hotel zone of Tulum, in Quintana Roo, Mexico, about two hours by road from Cancún airport. The hotel is built among the jungle, with tents, treehouses and suites, and has two restaurants: Macondo, and La Popular on the beach, which centres on fresh fish.
Outside visitors are welcome at the club. The pool and the beach beds are kept for hotel guests; visitors are given sofas and bean bags, subject to availability, against a food and drink minimum of 100 US dollars a person. Bookings go through the reservations e-mail, WhatsApp and a restaurant line. Non-guests can also eat at both restaurants, and can join the hotel's programme of music, workshops, yoga and meditation for a fee. No closure notice was posted when the pages were read.
Two tiers on one sand. The line between guest and visitor is drawn at the furniture: the beds go to those staying, the sofas and bean bags to those who come for the day.
A programme beyond the beach. Music, workshops, yoga, meditation and temazcal ceremonies run on site, free for hotel guests and charged to visitors; the temazcal can be cancelled in bad weather.
All ages. The hotel says it welcomes guests of all ages rather than adults alone.
Who it is not for
Nômade Tulum is wrong for a day visitor who wants a sunbed: the beds and the pool are kept for hotel guests, and visitors sit on sofas and bean bags when they are free. It is wrong for anyone on a tight budget, since the per-person minimum applies to every visitor. And it is wrong for wheelchair users or anyone with limited mobility, as the operator says its jungle-built grounds are not suited to them.
