Le 1051
A family-run restaurant and private beach on Pampelonne, at Ramatuelle, where a mattress is booked by telephone or e-mail.
Le 1051 stands at 1051 chemin des Canniers, in the place called Les Moulins, on Pampelonne, the bay in the commune of Ramatuelle at the gates of Saint-Tropez. It describes itself as a restaurant and private beach, with drinks, events and a boutique. It was founded by Maxime Lamon, son of Florence and Philippe, and the house says it carries on values handed down in the family for seven generations. Florence Lamon is named as publisher of its site, and the family's estate, Les Eucalyptus, presents it alongside its guest house, camping and vineyard.
The day is sold as a mattress on the sand, with lunch, an afternoon facing the sea and cocktails around it. The house invites anyone who wants to reserve a mattress to call or write, and publishes a telephone number and e-mail addresses; its link to a price list was empty when read, and no price was found. No opening hours or season are published, and no closure notice was found on the site.
Seven generations behind one beach. The house rests its character on family continuity, and names its values plainly: simplicity, authenticity and friendliness.
A Mediterranean bistro kitchen. The family estate describes the restaurant as Mediterranean and bistronomic, with a lounge for drinks and a boutique beside the beach.
One business among several. Le 1051 sits within a family holding under the Les Eucalyptus name that also includes lodging and wine, so the beach is one part of a wider local enterprise rather than a stand-alone concession.
Who it is not for
Le 1051 is wrong for anyone who wants to know the price of a mattress before calling: none is published. It is wrong for someone planning by the calendar, because no season or opening hours are stated and they have to be asked for. And it is wrong for a guest who wants to settle the whole day online, since the way in is a telephone call or an e-mail.
