La Môme Plage

La Môme Plage stands on the boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, on one of the lots of the beach below the boulevard. It is run by SAS La Môme Plage, whose president is Ugo Lecorché. With his twin brother Antoine he founded La Môme Groupe, which began in 2015 with a restaurant in rue Florian in Cannes and now keeps houses in Cannes, Monte-Carlo, Paris and London. Before that, the brothers had spent more than a decade running other Cannes establishments, after seasons in Saint-Tropez and Cannes.

The beach and the sunbeds are open daily from eleven in the morning to seven in the evening. Behind them the restaurant serves lunch, a pastry service through the afternoon and, in season, dinner from seven to eleven. The operator takes bookings by telephone, by e-mail and through an online reservation service, and states no restriction on who may book; it publishes no price for the sunbeds and no season dates. There is a valet service for cars.

Service before setting. The founders put their rule plainly: quality of service and welcome above all. The house describes the beach as welcoming from the first steps, refined and relaxed at once.

A restaurant group's kitchen. The menu reaches past the Riviera: a beach directory lists sushi and sashimi beside pasta and meat and fish grilled over flame, and the group behind it also runs a nikkei restaurant.

Day and night on one lot. Unlike the beaches that close with the sun, this one sets tables again for dinner, so the same address serves a morning on the sand and an evening on the boulevard.
