N La Plage

N La Plage stands at 37 Promenade des Anglais in Nice, on the Baie des Anges, directly opposite Hotel Le Negresco. The front below the promenade is a city front rather than a resort, with around fifteen private beaches between free public sections. This one is lot 7 among the city's concessions, awarded in 2019 to run until 2032. It was won by Bella Nissa and traded as Bella Nissa Plage; on 15 June 2022 it passed to the company that owns the hotel, and the Negresco opened it as N La Plage the same year. The hotel has belonged since 2021 to the endowment fund Mesnage-Augier-Negresco.

The day is sold by the sunbed, from nine to six, booked by telephone or e-mail. For 2026 the Nice tourist office lists a sunbed with parasol at 45 euros a day, 55 in the front row, and a double bed at 150. The beach opens in May. The kitchen is under Virginie Basselot, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, with Kévin Pasquet; the cooking is Mediterranean and Niçois, with lobster rolls from Rolls by Homer served on the sunbeds.

A garden laid on the beach. The planting is by Hervé Frézal, a florist and Meilleur Ouvrier de France: jasmine, fig and palm under white pergolas and trellis taken from seventeenth-century formal gardens, kept to green-grey and white.

Bought, not bid for. The hotel bought the concession two years into the term from the company that had won it. Its director, Lionel Servant, said the hotel needed its own beach to stand with Cannes and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The resale drew complaints to the prefect and the prosecutor in 2022; no outcome was read.

The evening belongs to the table. The sunbeds close at six, but the restaurant serves dinner from seven to ten every day and the lounge stays open as late.
