Principote

A beach club and restaurant on Panormos in Mykonos, with handmade umbrellas, a booking form for the sand and VIP loungers three beds wide.

Principote stands on Panormos Beach in Mykonos, on the Aegean. The operator describes the beach as well sheltered, with fine sand and an underwater life worth a mask. The club pairs the sand with a restaurant of Mediterranean cooking, an event venue for weddings, baptisms and company functions, and a shop it calls the Agora. No founding date or owner was read on the operator's pages.

The day is sold through a sunbed reservation form on the operator's site: arrival on the beach is offered at half past ten, eleven or half past eleven, and lunch tables from one to seven in the afternoon. A second booking channel runs through SevenRooms, which could not be read. No price, no minimum spend and no season dates are published. The beach has its own menu of light dishes and sushi, and massage on the sand. A transfer can be arranged at extra cost.

Two kinds of bed. Beside the standard sunbeds under handmade umbrellas, the club sells VIP loungers, each the size of three ordinary sunbeds and fitted with a locker.

Privileges that follow the bed. Shisha is served only in the VIP area, and guests on VIP loungers can order from the full restaurant menu rather than the beach menu.

Built for events as much as the day. The operator gives as much space to weddings and private functions as to the beach.

Who it is not for

Principote is wrong for anyone who wants to arrive on the beach in the afternoon with a booking: the form offers morning arrivals only. It is wrong for a guest who wants the full menu or shisha on an ordinary sunbed, since both are kept for the VIP loungers. And it is wrong for a traveller who needs to know the cost of the day in advance, because no price or minimum spend is published.
