Tropicana Mykonos

A party club on Paradise Beach in Mykonos since 1992, with sunbeds booked online and DJs from the afternoon until one in the morning.

Tropicana stands on Paradise Beach in Mykonos, about six kilometres from Chora, and can be reached by public bus from the Fabrika station. The operator dates the club to 1992 and presents it as the party beach of the island. It is one part of a complex that includes a hotel with suites and villas, and the operator's site lists a Greek tavern, Baladaya, among its related houses.

The day is sold as sunbeds and cabanas, booked online through the i-host system linked from the operator's home page, or by telephone and e-mail; VIP tables are reserved through a separate page. The beach opens from ten in the morning. The operator publishes no price. A third-party booking agent states that the minimum spend varies by date and by tier, without a figure. No season dates were read.

A beach that turns into a party. The operator sets the evening parties from half past four in the afternoon until one in the morning, with DJs and MCs every day and resident DJs on nights without a named guest.

More than the sunbed. The beach runs a water-sports service, from jet skis and towed rides to water-skiing and scuba diving.

A long record on one sand. The club has held its place on the same beach for more than three decades.

Who it is not for

Tropicana is wrong for anyone who wants a quiet afternoon by the sea: the parties start at half past four and the sound runs until one. It is wrong for a visitor who needs to know the cost of a bed before booking, because the minimum spend is set by date and tier and not published. And it is wrong for someone who wants the beach to themselves, because the club's whole purpose is the crowd.
