Akro Santorini

Akro stands at Mesa Pigadia, near Akrotiri, at the south-western edge of Santorini. The shore is black pebble and sand below high white cliffs that show the layers of the volcano, and the rocks close the bay into a cove where the water is usually calm and without waves. It is reached by car from the main road or by boat from the port at Akrotiri, and a natural cave in the cliff can be reached by swimming.

The day is sold through the operator's reservation form, which lists sunbeds as one choice beside a table in the restaurant and the private beach for a day; booking is also by phone and e-mail. No price is published, and none was found elsewhere. The operator's site gives no opening hours and carries no dated notice for 2026; a third-party listing describes the season as May to October. The kitchen is led by the executive chef Dimitris Orestis, and the menu names grilled octopus with smoked aubergine, fried shrimp on kadaifi, lamb shank and tuna fillet.

A beach that can be taken whole. Besides single sunbeds, the operator offers the private beach for a day, and the shore is used for wedding ceremonies, elopements, proposals and private dinners for two to four guests.

More sea than sand. The programme reaches out from the cove: boat trips to the Red and White beaches, jet-ski safaris, snorkelling and diving, and massages on the beach.

Dinner as well as the day. The restaurant keeps the evening too, with theme and candlelight dinner nights, wine tastings and cocktail evenings by the water.
