Lido Villeggiatura
Belmond's first beach club, opened in 2024 on Mazzarò bay below the Villa Sant'Andrea.
Lido Villeggiatura stands on the Bay of Mazzarò below Taormina, on the shore of the Villa Sant'Andrea, a house that was a private summer residence in the 1950s before it became a hotel. Belmond opened the club on 10 June 2024 and calls it the first destination beach club in its portfolio. It sets out sunbeds and umbrellas on the shore, six cabanas with sofas, loungers of their own and tented verandas, a beach bar, and dinner at Brizza. Trips along the coast go out on a Gozzo boat.
The day is sold to people who are not staying at the hotel. Belmond's own page says so, lists sunbeds and private cabanas among what an outside guest may book, and publishes a cancellation scale: half the booking from fourteen to seven days before, three quarters from six days to one, all of it on the day. The page prints no price. The opening announcement of 2024 did: from three hundred euro for a visitor's day on the beach, and from one thousand for a cabana for up to four. Hotel guests have their sunbeds with the room. The 2025 edition of the guide, published in May of that year, named it best beach club in Italy jointly with Bagno Alpemare.
Who it is not for
Lido Villeggiatura is wrong for anyone who wants a day on Mazzarò without a hotel's prices: Tao Beach, on the same small bay, sells an umbrella and two loungers for less than half of it, by the guide's figures. It is wrong for a visitor who wants a club with a history of its own on the sand; this one began in 2024, and the history is the villa's. Pets are not admitted.
