Augustus Beach Club

Augustus Beach Club lies on the Versilia shore at Forte dei Marmi, on the Tuscan coast, and belongs to the Augustus Hotel & Resort on viale Morin, a group of villas run by the company S.E.A.R. srl. The beach is laid out as seventy-four tents, each with a queen-size lounger, two single loungers, two deckchairs, a table and a chest with a safe; the hotel also lists twenty-six private cabins. A tent takes up to five guests.

The day is sold by the tent. The club opens from half past nine to half past seven, with bar service at the tent from half past nine to seven; the price includes towels and the pool. The operator says tent rates change with the season and the position, publishes no figure, and invites enquiries and bookings for a tent; hotel residents may settle the beach on their room bill, which makes them one clientele rather than the only one.

A pool on the beach. The club keeps a heated saltwater pool with an indoor Jacuzzi, open to adults and children, included with the tent.

Lessons as well as loungers. The club teaches sailing, canoeing, surfing, windsurfing and swimming, takes guests out in the pattìno, the local twin-hulled rowing boat, and runs a children's programme in the late afternoon through the summer.

Dogs under the tent. Pets are allowed at the tents and in the restaurant, with a menu of their own.
