Bagno Alcione

Bagno Alcione stands at Viale della Repubblica 8 in Forte dei Marmi, on the Versilia coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The beach is of very fine sand, and the house notes that the water ranks each year among the best in Italy and flies the Blue Flag. It runs the beach, a pool and a restaurant, and in 2025 announced a second restaurant, Alcione al Tennis, among the tennis courts of Roma Imperiale.

The day is sold as an umbrella or a tent on the sand, with wooden cabins behind. Booking follows the calendar: until the end of May and from the first of September, by telephone, by e-mail or through an online booking button; in June, July and August, by e-mail only. No price is published, and no restriction on who may book is stated. The pool, with a deeper part for adults and a shallow part for children, is for the beach's own clients.

Tents made up each day. The tents are dressed daily with towels cut to measure and embroidered for the guest, and the cabins have a veranda, a small safe, a bench, hooks and shelves.

Lessons in and on the water. There are swimming lessons, aquagym in the pool, and surf, paddle-board and canoe courses with qualified instructors; lifeguards cover both the beach and the pool.

A kitchen from the shore. Catia De Santi leads the kitchen, cooking fish in the Tuscan tradition, with sushi by Jorg Maeda, pastries made in the house each day and a menu for children.
