Bagno Alpemare
The Bocelli family's bathing establishment at Forte dei Marmi, where the day is sold as a tent with a cabin.
Bagno Alpemare stands on the long flat sand of Forte dei Marmi in the Versilia, a coast laid out almost entirely in private bathing establishments with painted cabins, the Apuan Alps behind them. In 2024 it doubled its frontage on the beach by taking over the establishment next door.
The establishment has belonged to the tenor Andrea Bocelli and Veronica Berti since 2017. It sets out one hundred and twenty tents, each with a cabin carrying a safe, charging points and a courtesy kit. In 2024 five king-size tents of five metres by three were added at twelve hundred euro a day. The same summer its kitchen went into partnership with Nobu, the Japanese restaurant group founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper.
Who it is not for
Alpemare is wrong for anyone who wants an umbrella and two loungers and nothing more: the day here is a tent with a cabin, priced as one. It is wrong for a visitor who wants the Versilia's older bathing houses, run as they were a generation ago. For that form on the same coast, Bagno Piero is a short walk away.
