El Chiringuito Puente Romano

A beach restaurant on the sand at Puente Romano on the Golden Mile, carrying the name of an Ibiza original and selling sunloungers by the sea alongside its tables.

El Chiringuito stands on the beach of the Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa, on the Golden Mile of Marbella, facing the Mediterranean. It took over the site of the former Del Mar Beach Club, directly on the sand and beside the resort's Sea Grill restaurant. The resort's own page calls it simply Chiringuito. The name and the look came from Ibiza, where El Chiringuito has worked on Es Cavallet since 2009; the press credited Daniel Shamoon, owner of Puente Romano, with bringing it to Marbella. The launch menu was written by the French chef Jèrome Palayer.

The operator lists sunloungers by the sea alongside the restaurant. Tables and loungers are booked through the resort's reservation system, by telephone and by e-mail. No price for a lounger or a minimum spend is published by the operator, and none was found in the press. In October 2026 the operator listed the kitchen from one to half past four and closing at seven, with the Thursday night from eight; other sources give later hours. A local guide reviewing the 2026 season describes it as open all year, with a standard table shift of two hours.

One beach, two shifts. The menu runs from breakfast dishes and juices to dinner, and on Thursday evenings the restaurant becomes a club night with a resident DJ and guests, a programme the operator calls Suite del Mar.

Fish over wood. The kitchen grills fish in a Josper charcoal oven and serves oysters, gazpacho and risotto, with a separate plant-based list.

Not the Ibiza house. The Marbella operation shares a name and a style with El Chiringuito on Es Cavallet, but it is a different place, run within a hotel resort rather than inside a nature reserve.

Who it is not for

El Chiringuito at Puente Romano is wrong for anyone who wants to know the cost of a lounger before arriving, because no price is published and the sum has to be asked. It is wrong for a long, unhurried lunch at a busy time, since a guide reports a two-hour table shift. And it is wrong for a quiet Thursday evening, when the restaurant turns into a club night.
