Nikki Beach Miami Beach

The first Nikki Beach, at the southern tip of South Beach, on a city-owned site whose lease ends in 2027.

Editorial entry · sources recorded · operator confirmation pending

Nikki Beach stands at 1 Ocean Drive, at the southern tip of South Beach in Miami Beach, facing the Atlantic. Jack Penrod opened a beach club on the site in 1985; with his wife he renovated it in the late 1990s and renamed it Nikki Beach, in memory of their daughter. It was the first club of the name. The site belongs to the city, and in 2026 the city and the concession company Boucher Brothers settled a lawsuit with the Penrod family: the Penrod lease ends in 2027, and the site passes to a new operator.

The day is sold as daybeds and cabanas on the sand, from eleven in the morning to six in the evening. The operator publishes no price. An independent guide put daybeds in July 2026 from about three hundred and fifty dollars for a minimum of four guests, and cabanas from about seven hundred and fifty, with tax and gratuity on top. The bed area is for guests of twenty-one and over, with physical identification. Bookings go through the operator's reservation system and by e-mail.

Who it is not for

Nikki Beach Miami Beach is wrong for a family that wants the beds: the bed area is twenty-one and over. It is wrong for a couple on a budget, because the reported daybed minimum is four guests. And it is wrong for anyone planning a return after the summer of 2027, when the lease on the site ends.

CONFLICT: opening — a beach club on the site from 1985 (therealdeal.com) against Nikki Beach opened at 1 Ocean Drive in 1998 (beachesforkings.com). Both are true of different things; the text gives both.
